Sunday's Seven Snapshots vol.110

Example #1 why I'll never be "skinny":  These pancakes with bananas, strawberries, butterscotch, and vanilla ice cream were worth every single calorie.

Example #2 why I'll never be "skinny": my accompaniment to this month's Show Us Your Books link-up was Ben & Jerry's Phish Food.  No regrets.

I did mix in some exercise though...a lengthy walk along the harbour.

One of the special things about living here...you can exercise (with a walk along the harbour), then relax by reading a book with a view like this.

Taronga Zoo hosts a summer concert series called "Twilight At Taronga" at an outdoor amphitheatre.  My good friend, Kate, and I scooped up tickets when we saw the line-up this year.

This was the view to the side of the stage while the opening band was playing.  I'm not even kidding.  Sydney can be such a show-off sometimes.

JET!  I love this band so much.  They hadn't performed live in 7 years (until this summer).  I'd seen them a couple of times back in the States, and I saw them here before as well...there was something really fun and exciting to see them back together again.  The crowd was so pumped and sang along to every song.  This show sold out, and they are playing a second show tonight.

Hope your week had some tasty treats, or a refreshing walk, or a good book, or time with a good friend, or seeing great live music.  Tell me if you did any (or all) of these things.

  2. Oh, I've had a tub or two of Phish Food recently. Visa stress will do that to a girl! Those pancakes look absolutely incredible, I choose pancakes over skinny any day.

The Jet concert looks brilliant! You were so close! It's so cool to go to gigs where the crowd is really into it. Makes me feel like less of a loon :) Where did they put the stage? It looks a bit like where the bird show normally is.

  5. This post included ice cream, a concert, and beautiful views. Those are three of the best things in life :)
I'm envious that you can take strolls along the harbor. I feel like that'd be really pretty!

  7. Erin - you're killing me with those pancakes! I seriously want to lick my screen but I know it won't taste like delicious pancakes with ICE CREAM and BUTTERSCOTCH! I have to recreate that now. Or maybe this weekend. :D Sydney is seriously gorgeous. Australia has always been on my like to visit list but now I feel like I have to see it in all its glory.

  11. Just add some chips and salsa to your first two pictures, and that's a reason why I'll never be skinny! That picture of the sunset over Sydney is too pretty! It definitely was showing off this past weekend!

  12. I love that line - Sydney can be such a show off at times! LOL! It truly is a stunning picture, though.

Your reading spot along the harbour looks very idyllic. What a fantastic view.

Let's see... I had several tasty treats and took several walks (25 miles last week in an attempt to counterbalance the aforementioned tasty treats), and spent time with several friends. No live music this week.. Three out of four isn't bad. :)

  13. Dem pancakes look like they are from Pancakes on the Rocks. Maybe the table is just similar? These are ways to lure me to Oz, that's for sure.

  14. Pancakes and ice cream are among the reasons I will never be skinny, either. That Sydney photo is beautiful! I saw lots of friends over the weekend - so much so that I needed time to recharge at home on Sunday!

  16. those pancakes look amazing! where'd you go? my friends and i used to go to pancakes on the rocks ALL THE TIME but never the rocks location. go you for all your walk, when is your 10k? and yeah when i saw you snap or instagram or something that you were at a Jet concert i was like what?! that's awesome! i had no idea they still performed, were they still recording/selling cds or whatever and just not performing? or not doing anything at all? i was a big fan way back in the day, but it's been a long time lol
